WEF Davos Transportation – Your Own Car and Chauffeur for the Week

Every January, the World Economic Forum brings heads of state, CEOs, journalists and thousands of attendees to Davos. For five days, this small mountain town becomes one of the busiest places on earth. Roads close, security checkpoints are everywhere and an available taxi is nearly impossible to find.

That’s why most WEF attendees book their own chauffeur service for the WEF in Davos. You get one car and one chauffeur who stays with you all day. Your chauffeur knows the road closures, the hotel entrances and the best places to wait. You just get in and head to your next meeting.

What WEF Week in Davos Is Really Like

The Annual Meeting usually takes place in the second half of January. Officially it runs five days, but many attendees arrive a day early and leave a day late. During that time, Davos has far more visitors than hotel beds, and every car on the road seems to be headed to a meeting.

A typical day looks like this: a breakfast meeting at one hotel, sessions at the Congress Center, lunch at a corporate house on the Promenade, then two or three receptions in the evening – often in Klosters or up on the mountain. Without a car waiting for you, that schedule simply doesn’t work.

Security zones and road closures

Around the Congress Center, police set up security zones. Some streets are open only to vehicles with a special permit, and some close on short notice when a head of state passes through town. Our chauffeurs live in the region and drive these roads every year. They know where they can stop, where passengers can walk safely and which route is fastest when a road is closed.

Snow, ice and cold

January in Davos means snow, ice and below-freezing temperatures. All our vehicles have winter tires and all-wheel drive where needed. Your chauffeur keeps the car warm while you’re inside, so you’re never left waiting out in the cold.

The Right Vehicle for Every WEF Attendee

Every traveler and every team has different needs. We put together the right mix of vehicles for your group:

  • Mercedes-Benz E-Class – a sleek business sedan for up to 3 passengers
  • Mercedes-Benz S-Class – the luxury sedan for CEOs, ministers and VIP guests
  • Mercedes-Benz V-Class – a van with chauffeur for small teams of up to 7
  • Mercedes-Benz Sprinter – a minibus for delegations of up to 16 passengers

You can book a single car or an entire fleet. Many companies book an S-Class for their CEO, a V-Class for the team and a Sprinter for evening events. Everything is on one booking and one invoice.

Delegations · Corporate houses

Corporate WEF Transportation for Companies and Delegations

Companies, governments and organizations bring entire teams to the WEF. We plan the vehicles, chauffeurs and schedules for you, so your people arrive on time and your guests feel welcome.

  • One point of contact for your entire team
  • Chauffeurs in suits who keep everything confidential
  • Shuttle loops between hotels, the Congress Center and your corporate house
  • Late-night pickups after dinners and receptions
  • Luggage and equipment moved separately with our luggage transfer
  • One invoice for all vehicles and all days

Arriving for the WEF: Zurich Airport to Davos

Most WEF attendees fly into Zurich Airport. The drive to Davos takes about two hours – longer on the busy arrival days before the meeting starts. Your chauffeur tracks your flight, waits in the arrivals hall with a name sign and takes your bags to the car. Get all the details on our Zurich Airport to Davos transfer page.

Our WEF week packages already include two airport transfers. If you only need a ride from the airport, you can book a one-way transfer starting at CHF 800 (≈ $970).

Book Early – Cars and Chauffeurs Sell Out

Every year, the best vehicles and chauffeurs in the region are booked months before the meeting. Many of our clients book their WEF transportation in September or October, as soon as they know they’re going. If your plans aren’t final yet, send us a request anyway – we’ll hold a car for you and you can update the details later.

How to Book Your WEF Chauffeur

  1. Tell us your dates, how many people are traveling and where you’re staying.
  2. We send you a fixed rate – usually within a few hours.
  3. You confirm, and before the WEF we send you your chauffeur’s name and cell phone number.
  4. During the week, you’re in direct contact with your chauffeur and our dispatcher, day and night.

When is the WEF in Davos?

The World Economic Forum Annual Meeting takes place in Davos every January, usually in the second half of the month. It runs for about five days.

How do I get around Davos during the WEF?

The easiest option is a car with your own chauffeur. Taxis are scarce, many roads are closed and the shuttle buses are often full. Your chauffeur waits for you and knows the security zones.

Our chauffeurs know the zones and the rules inside out. They’ll get you as close as police allow and pick you up at the agreed meeting points.

Can we book multiple vehicles for our delegation?

Yes. We plan entire fleets of sedans, vans and minibuses – with one point of contact and one invoice.

How far in advance should I book WEF transportation?
